I have compiled a new list of must-have items for Mac OS X, items in bold are most important (yeah, yeah.. most of them):
3ivX – Video Codec
Adium – Multi-service Chat Client
$Cocktail – System Maintenance & Hidden Options
DivX – Video Codec
Firefox – Web Browser
Flip4Mac – Quicktime Plug-in for WM Video/Audio
Growl – Plug-in-based System Notifications

For what it’s worth, all of these pieces of software officially now have my seal of approval. I have switched from Safari to Firefox (Mac), Bittorrent to Transmission (also Mac), MySpace to Blogger and I’ve started using Digg rather frequently.
