have you seen the anti-smoking and anti-pot commercials lately?
am i the only one who thinks they are getting utterly ridiculous? i’ve had pot a grand total of 3 times in my 22 year life, and i’m pretty sure that nothing i’ve seen in these commercials describes the effect it had on me at that moment, or in the “long term” of my life.
ok, so.. boy smoking in front of dog. “stop staring at me like that dog, i can quit smoking anytime i want” the boy chastises.
“how about now”, says the dog.
“next week is better” replies the boy.
then the “above the influence” tag-line comes in.
ok, so what part of that commercial makes sense? let’s say the boy has a blunt a month.. what’s a good reason to stop? the only thing the commercial has going for it is that it is self-fulfilling; you’re convincing more (ignorant, uninformed, dumbass) people that pot is this god-awful life-destroying drug.. when in fact..
there’s NOTHING WRONG WITH POT other than the fact that it is illegal. it is illegal for no good reason, and these idiotic commercials just serve to further their lack of a foundation for making it illegal in the first place.
oh, and while i’m at it, another thing: i’m sick of seeing magazines, television shows, movies etc.. with picture perfect figures on every man, woman and child. do i have to be reminded non-stop, every day that my life isn’t that picturesque?
seriously, it’s very annoying.
